U sure can run them. U will slowly destroy ur axle housing assemblies but sure, u can run 40's. Between the lack of suffecient gears low enough for that housing and bending the C's, the front axle wont survive long.

37's are considered the tallest tire with reinforcements added to housing such as axle sleeves and C bracing along with chromo axle assemblies with spicer u joints.

Good luck with it and take pics, we all love pics.

If 40's are a must upgrade to Dana 60's and try to sell your axels before they are worthless twisted and broken.

Would just the reinforcements be enough for 37s or is that just to get by? Also, about how much should that cost to get done?

How about the 38" Toyo M/T compared to the 37" on the stock reinforced Dana 44s?

LT385/70R16 130Q D/8 (38X14.50R16) (Diameter: 37.7")
vs
37X13.50R17LT 131Q E/10 (Diameter: 37")

My setup now:
35" Toyo M/T (17" wheel)
Gears Front and Rear: 5.38
Coast Front 1310
Tom Woods Rear 1350
Front Axle sleeves
Front Reinforced C's
Front Aftermarket Bearings and U Joints

I'm also trying to figure this out as I plan to upgrade to beadlock wheels and 37"+ tires in the next 6 months

What did it cost you to reinforce your axle?
