Exclamation Working Today-Need Help-Teraflex Quick Disconnects

So, I'm installing the hardware kit today and the fit on the lower end of the sway bar link is MUCH tighter than I was expecting. The only way for me to get the sway bar link onto the lower quick disconnect connection is to hammer it on and off. I was anticipating the on/off function of this "quick" disconnect to be much less intensive. Now, that being said, I've never used/installed quick disconnects before, so I'm not sure if this is the way it supposed to be. For those that have them, is this how they function? Are they "hard" to get on/off?

Some Background: Teraflex has changed the design of the sway bar links for the quick disconnects. They no longer have bushings on both ends, but rather resemble the stock sway bar links and have the bolt integrated with the top connection and the bottom connection is a bushing (where you push out the sleeve). I'm worried that my force fit application is due to a newer sway bar link use with an older hardware kit. Any advice is appreciated!!!

I'm working on my jeep today and only get an afternoon every couple weeks to crawl under it... I'd Love to take care of it today if I can. Thanks in advance fellow jeepers.

Mine push on/off rather easily. You took the metal bushing out, right?

I am going to get rid of mine because of this issue. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to take them off on the trail, which defeats the purpose of using them in the first place. what a waste of money.

Yes. That was also a "challenge". Instructions show a guy pushing it out with his finger... I used a mallet and a socket to hammer it out... Should have been my first tip! Which brand are you running? I wonder if it's the particular style that I'm installing.

Two things. First, did you use grease? Mine were extremely tight both going and were near impossible to get off. A good smattering of grease fixed it for me.

Second, if it's still too tight, call Teraflex and they'll send you out two new lower studs that have been slightly machined down.

I did this and their customer support was great. They sent me studs that were slightly machined and everything works as planned.

I suppose this is what I'll be doing... makes me wonder why they are sending components out that have such a tight/interference fit for something that is "designed" to be removed by hand on the trail. Thanks you everyone for the quick feedback! I appreciate this forum more and more everyday!
