5 tire rotation
Just curious how many people don't rate in their spare tire when doing tire rotations. i don't. and was curious how many people don't bother with it also. and why?
Me...Im just lazy....and id have a hard time keeping track of what tire was next to be spare.

I had my last Jeep YJ for 20 years and never rotated or changed the spare. Most of that time it had no cover and it just sat back there rotting in the sun until it was useless. So...I will definitely include the spare in the rotation on my new JK12 since I like the way the spare looks without a cover and I want a functional spare.
As stated, follow the 5-tire pattern and there's no guess work. Doing this way also means you only have to jack up one corner at a time. I didn't pay $250+ to just hang a spare off the back, so I rotate it in!

I rotate all 5. Just as previously said. It makes the tire last longer, keeps tread wear on all about the same and when I need new ones...I can change brand/style and have all 5 the same.
Very true and I agree with you... That's a very expensive ornament if you are not going to rotate it in. I had a Geo Tracker 4x4 when i was younger, one time while on the trails a rock cut right into my sidewall. Threw in the spare, that tire was about an inch taller then the rest and it was a bit rotten from the sun, man did it mess with me when I switched to 4x4... It did not like it one bit and i was so nervous getting out and driving back home on that rotted/dry/cracked tire. Lucky i learned at an early age to rotate all of them. I was told that it gives you about 20% more tire life in rotate the spare, i don't know how true this is, but I'm saving for 35's and every day counts!! LOL.
