Default 18x10 or 18x9 wheels with stock suspension

Would 18x10 wheels work on stock suspension? Is 18x9 the widest you can go without issue?

What are recommended tire sizes Thinking of 285/65R18 Cooper Discoverer AT3

A 10" wide wheel is a bit wide for a 285 tire. I would stick with 9" at max. In my opinion, a 285 is a great size for stock suspension.

I would go with the 18x9....if you are dead set on using 18" wheels
