I use a motorcraft fl400s I think is the part number. Bigger than stock. Works well and no engine tick.

Here is a list of oil filters that work with the 3.8 engine:

----Make------Stock------Oversize
Amsoil--------EAO57------EAO34
Fram---------PH3614-----PH3600
K&N---------HP-1002-----HP-2009
Mobil--------M1-102------M1-209
Mopar--------L-335----------???
Napa----------1348---------1516
PureOne----PL10241----PL20195
Purolator----L10241------L20195
Wix------------51348-------51516

In my '07 JK, I've used the Fram, Mobile and Purolator filters at one time or another.

It won't be an issue just because of a larger filter. But you would want to add the appropriate amount of oil for how much bigger the filter is. Besides more filtration and less resistance, that's part of the idea...more capacity and therefore cooler running oil. Although your difference will probably be negligible as far as temperature.

thats why i ran the bigger filter on her van , the motorcraft held almost an extra qt and it eliminated cold start tick i should have done a search tho because this topic was already on here . there will be no pressure issues just fill to the full mark as you normally do
