Default dana 30/44 swap on a sahara

Anyone know of a reason why the dana 44 front axle in a rubicon could not be swapped into a sahara that currently has a dana 30? Will it bolt right up or do modifications need to be made. Doing all the upgrades to my 30 and wondering if it may be cheaper and easier to swap in an aftermarket 44..

I think you should be good then. Mounting-wise, I don't think there is a difference. It may take some tweeking of adjustable control arms and track bars, but that's no big deal. If you're regearing, then you don't have to worry about reflashing the computer to get the locker to work.

Its an'07 and the previous owner (unknown) has already swapped to a 44 rear, not sure the reason, and as far as i can tell without popping the cover has no rear locker so i'm going to toss in both lockers without going thru the ECM. Have long since disabled the ESP via toggle so should be good to go there too. Have already beefed up the 30 with hub conversion and higher grade shafts and went to 5:13's,just wondered if it wouldve been less on the wallet to swap instead.

Unfortunately, ive got the 2 door..and kicking my own arse daily for it too..this is my first build. I bought it almost bone-stock except the rear bumper, wheels and D-44 rear. Done the rest to it over the last 6 months as i have time..

Should swap right in. 2007 Sahara came with Dana 44 rear and 4.10s, at least mine did. Get your build sheet to see exactly what you have. The Dana 44 front should bolt right in.

Ah yes, in the early years the tow package included 4.10s. There are factory front d30s and non-rubi rear 44s floating around out there with 4.10s. Unfortunately, no non-rubi front 44s.
