Default Bumper finishes...which option??

I am going to order the PSC front and rear bumper w/ tire carrier. They come unfinished like most...I want to see everyone's opinion on how I should finish them.

I talked to a local powder coating shop and he told me that PSC bumpers are laser cut so it leaves some sort of "film" on all the edges. I don't remember exactly what the term was. He said that we would have to do some sort of treating on it so the powder coat would stick otherwise over time it will chip off.

Powder Coat Options:

Option 1:

pre treatment, sandblast and one coat of powder coat = $275

Option 2:

pre treatment, sandblast, a coat of zinc rich primer, and one coat of powder coat = $425

Raptor Liner Option:

sandblast, and raptor line the bumpers: $150

I like this idea, just don't know how durable this will be on bumpers that will be taking abuse. Also, do I need to get that "treatment" done like the powder coat guy was telling me he wanted to do. Will the raptor liner not stick and fall off over time if I don't?

I would love to hear everyone's thoughts, please! Thanks!

You will have to use some etching primer on raw metal before you put raptor liner on it. The whole bumper not just the where it was cut.

I did my brawler Lite front with etching primer and I think 6 cans of bedliner. It turned out great and my grille was already done so everything matches.

That powder coating company sounds very expensive, unless you are using custom / special paint.

I say shop around more for a more reasonable powder coat company.

Heck, in AZ, you can get a whole buggy frame done right for $500-$700..
