Default 2013 rubicon 4.11 auto on order want 35" tires and aftermarket rims.

I ordered the dark cherry red Rubicon with auto and 4.11 and want aftermarket black rims with 35" mud tires. I'll only be running dirt roads no deep mud holes or valley'd out rock trails. I read you don't need to lift a 2012-13 for 35" if your not articulating the vehicle heavily on valleys etc. Can I just go with tires or do I need a lift? I was thinking 2.5" pro lift but do I need a lift at all? My main interest is the look with the 35". It will be my daily driver when it isn't sunny or anytime I'm off road. I'll be towing a 2 place snowmobile trailer in winter sometimes. I don't like the aftermarket fenders so that's not an option for me.
Thanks!

If you plan on running 35" tires or larger, you really should consider having a set of axle C gussetts installed. Is this all? Remember I have a 2013 and a lot of the info on the newbie list is for 07 up.

You will need a lift for 35s unless you plan on cutting those brand new parts. A 2.5" lift is a good pick, I got a 4" rough country with 35s and I enjoy my ride height. Plus, the lift was only $600 but I don't plan on rock crawling, just dirt roads and such like you explained.

Opalgem==Just remember when running 35" you will cut into your gas mileage some what.
Also with a lift of 2.5 you might need to change out your Driveshaft.

Why not do 33" and just a 2" lift? It will save you some problems down the road, until you decide what kind of places you really want to visit off-road.

I don't think a 2" lift is required for a 2013 and 33". I'm debating on just getting 33" and new rims. That way I won't run into any problems with drivetrain. The lift is the question really. I'll have to repost this about what is the ultimate 2.5" set up.

I don't think you need to do anything with the driveshaft with a 2.5" lift, unless it's changed for 2013's.

Personally, I'd recommend an AEV 2.5" lift with correction brackets. Yes, it will cost a little more but the AEV setup is pretty sweet. I love the way the Jeep handles with this kit.

Or

Get the Teraflex Performance Leveling kit (coils). This is a good setup and it doesn't cost as much as a 2.5" lift. You could earlier fit a 33" (or maybe 35") tire with plenty of room to spare.

I definitely would lift the Jeep a little if you are going bigger tires. Yes, bigger tires will fit without a lift but to me it looks stuffed. A little lift to give tires room doesn't hurt...

You "MIGHT" have driveshaft issues with a 2.5" lift (they're very rare on anything less than 3"!), but it probably won't ever happen if you never fully flex the suspension.

Go with the AEV kit + geometry correction brackets if you want a smooth ride and peace of mind for a fairly reasonable price.

Also, regardless of which lift you get, you'll probably still need to trim the air dam and pinch the seams in order to fit 35's with no rub...

AEV 2.5" lift with Toyo Open Country MTs that measure 34.25". This is a DD and maybe an occasional trail, probably never gonna go serious rock climbing.

I agree with the statement above that 35s with no lift looks stuffed/loaded down. 33s look fine with no lift, can go either way.

Just had a Tera-Flex 2.5" spring lift installed on my 2013 by Burnsville Offroad, running 35's with stock rims and 1.5" spacers. Only extra part they said to buy was an adjustable front track bar. They had it done in less than three hours, tracks straight, no issues so far! (Living in Iowa when I had this done, did not drive from Atlanta..haha!)

What exact tire size are you running on those Toyos. I like the Toyo M/Ts and plan to put them on my Jeep. I have a 2 1/2 lift too on mine. Out of all the options I like the Toyo look the best. Ours look pretty similar too with the blacked out theme. Any problems running that tire on the stock rear carrier. How do the Toyos ride/wear? Thanks.
