Default well its winter here first snowfall 10cm anyone running 235/80/17 winters??

Yep its that time of the year snowed 10cm early this morning in northern alberta canada.I put the winters on the truck but i still got the cooper st maxx's on the jeep there 285/70/17 there sipped stud holes but i didnt stud them when i got them so i cant now but anyhow.I want to put a studded skinny taller tire on my factory 17'' the highways out here can be fing nasty so i had a set priced were hankook rw11 ipike 235/80/17 (10ply) studded ballanced and installed for 4 tires was almost $1200 wich is doable but main question here anyone got any pics of 235/80/17 winters or mudds on stock rims!!

What about running duratracs? I know most jeep guys up here run them.


How far north are you?

I googled the tire size and it got me this picture. granted they are on a TJ but that should give you some sort of a size comparison.

Why not just get Blizzaks in 255/75/17??

skinny tires are better the "cut" threw rather than float on snow.

iv allways ran studded winters were i live here in northern alberta and the east coast the blizzaks are not that cheap so

i can get a better deal for a pure winter than the duratracs i had a set prices and was 1600

I just bought a new set of Duratracs 325/70/17 here in Russia. 5 Tireds for $700 US new ...
I have not mounted them yet but I have the AEV Savegre rims and the 3" TeraFlex Prerunner lift kit to go on first.... BTW that was $700 per tire

If you think you have high prices, think again.

well i found a set on kijji (classifieds) well guy said were driven for 4 months for $600 and were the size i wanted 235/80/17
well long story short he help me put the tires back of my truck and the one he put in had a nail in it and the beed was f--ked.Called the guy back and got the money back and were half worn i guess i should have checked the new tread depth..lesson learned
