Default Tires

Hey guys,
What's the benefit of having a larger tire like 35's to say 37's or 40's. Does it help to have bigger tires or it really isn't a big deal. I need some input please?

Bigger tires increase your ground clearance by bringing your axles up higher off the ground. Allows you to go over obstacles without dragging.

Some of the lowest points under your jeep are your diffs and your lower control arm mounts, and all the lift in the world isn't gonna raise them one bit. Only bigger tires do that.

They also have more tread on the ground at any given time, as well as the diameter makes climbing onto and over obstacles easier.

It depends what you do with your Jeep. If you simply drive to the mall with them, then to some it may seem like a compensation for having a small penis. If you take it off road, then the bigger you go, the harder terrain/lines you can take on, for all the reasons that were already mentioned here.

I'm new to jeeps & by no means an expert... But another thing to take into consideration is that the bigger the tire, the more mods you'll need to do to your rig to accommodate that tire size. Ex: bigger lift, etc... Just my .02.

...and the worse the gas mileage!!!!

That's not saying it's not worth it, but if all you're doing is driving to/from work, the money is better spent on a penis enlargement versus paying for tires that need replaced every 30k and cost $300/each.

If you truly use your vehicle offroad, they're 150% worth it.

I was running 33's for a while and I can remember being off road and getting high centered on some hills but not completely getting stuck just struggling a little getting through. Going over rocks and climbing over some roots was also challenging but I managed. When I went to 35's and I went out to same places I noticed the difference immediately and getting over stuff had become a little easier. The only downside was that I was tucking my tires when fully flexed and was rubbing my fenders a lot more than before so I am cutting my fenders. I think it was worth it and if I ever go bigger I am going right to 40's but I need to same some serious coin before making that jump.

Bigger tires are good if you do a lot of wheeling. If you see mostly street use, with occasional off road use, maybe not so much. Bigger tires put more stress on your axles, causing a pretty spendy week point. You also have to consider the terrain you'll be driving on.
