Default Detroit TrueTrac on rear D44 - non Rubicon

So, I have a wheeling trip coming up next weekend at Rausch and did a quick once-over on my rig. Long story short, found a nice chunk of metal when I checked my fluid level on the rear differential. Needless to say, drained the oil, took off the cover, and a spider gear tooth is chipped.

With that being said, I don't want to just replace the spider gear and take the cheap way out on parts and labor(since its going to all be pulled anyway). So, the Detroit TrueTrac option came up and I am taking that route....

Who here has one or has some thoughts/insight on it? Heard it's a really nice piece....

Yea, I knew it was going to be a step up from the posi I have in there now. Looking forward to testing it out on the trails.

I curious myself. I just recently put a Grizzly locker in mine when my stock L/S diff took a dump and chewed iteself up. Happy with the grizzly, a little noisy but nothing you don't quickly get used to.

See you at Rausch Creek next week

I have used them in a couple of rigs and love them. They're not a locker but they're very capable. You'll notice the added traction on your first wheeling trip.

Yea, it's funny cause they make the eLocker - which is their best product of course, and people think the TrueTrac is a locker.

I'm even more anxious to get on the trails now to see the difference... knew there would be, hopefully it will be for the better! HA!

Just like dynatrac says they are very capable. I have them front and rear on my Sahara and I ran the rubicon trail last week and had no issues with traction. That's a good enough test for me.

Thanks for the insight bud. Good to hear a testimony on a worthy, well known jeep trail such as the Rubicon....as supposed to back yard mud or a loading dock!
