Default How to protect the rear front lower control arm mount?

So I have bought my skids for the front lower control arm and the rear lower control arm/shock mount. I am still trying to find a skid for the front rear lower control arm mount. These seem to get smashed every time I am out and they are getting bent pretty bad. Do they even make such a thing?

where is the front rear lower control arm mount?

You could always just weld on some 3/16's or 1/4" plate

Judging by the picture it looks like he is talking about where the front lower control arms mount to the frame. I have never seen skids for that if that is where you are talking about. I'm not certain how you would put a skid on that without limiting movement of that joint. You could always have new mounts made out of thicker metal.

Yeah, it looks like he is talking about the frame side. I have the same issue. Couple nice whacks on mine as well. Would have thot that someone would have made at least a reinforced weld on one, but no such luck.....

So to my knowledge, there is no solution short of going to a long arm mount....but that is an expensive mod for sure.

you could easily skid it without limiting movement. You would have to have a rounded forward edge that would line up with the control arm bolt. The strength comes from tying both sides of the mount together so they cant pull to the sides or warp. You can do it easily out of 3/16's, which i believe is what the stock brackets are, and have a shop weld em on for you.

Thanks all! I am speaking of the one on the frame. I couldn't find anything and I guess I didnt understand why. If mine have been smacked with my pretty limited hard wheeling, I can only imagine what others look like.

I have the evo skids coming for the front lower and the rear lower shock mount ones, but I saw nothing for the one I'm looking for.
