Default AEV 3.5 Dualsport RS Install

Just ordered this lift from Northridge 4x4 with the grade 8 kit and Britten badge lines. Anyone have any tips or pointers fit this install? Everything seems straight forward. Just not sure on the high steer install. I'm also gonna add some sway bar disconnects down the road.

Any help would be appreciated. Gonna tackle this this weekend.

Default Follow the instructions

That's the best advice I can give... I find a lot of threads on here complaining about their ride after the install and they ended up torquing the control arm brackets on the lift. What year is your JK? Mine is an 08' 2dr, The instructions read that some "slight prying" on the exhaust is necessary to remove a bolt from the front UCA to install the relocation brackets. Well after moving to intense prying my buddy and I just ended up dropping the motor mount to move the exhaust manifold out of the way and the bolt came out, problem solved.

I just did the JKS adjustable sway bar disconnects. I like them, however there is a problem with the AEV kit, the lower mounting post bolt does not fit in the hole on the front high steer brackets. 2 options, bore out the hole or use the lower mounting pin in the stock hole for the sway bar disco's. The stock location for the lower end of the front sway bar link is one of the locations you will bolt the high steer kit into. I simply swapped out the bolt that AEV sends with the mounting pin was a pain to torque it to the 125lbs spec but it needed to get done. I know this may not make sense now, but it should after you do the install. Good luck!

P.S Be prepared for the hater comments.

Mine is an 11' JKUS so I'm hoping the bolts aren't a problem.

I went back and forth on which kit I wanted. Honestly it's mostly a DD so I thought this was the best option. Can adjusts add adjustable CA later if needed.

Yup the high steer is an easy install.

I had the correct bit but I still bought a new one because I wanted it to cut like butter. If you mess up that hole than you got problems..

Installing the full kit is easy.. Just take your time.
On my 08 I did run into an issue with the upper passanger bolt not coming out. I had to cut it.. kept hitting the exhaust.

It's all here. Now to find time to install it. Gonna be a long week staring at it in the garage.

My brother and I put the AEV 3.5 sc kit which is the same as yours except you have the reservoir shocks. Read the instructions and have new drill bits as mentioned above. Read and retread the procedures and you'll do fine.

Good luck.

I notice in the instructions it calls for disconnecting the drive shaft. Is this a necessary step?
