Default Trail Grapplers vs Mud Grapplers

I was wondering If anyone had any experiences with both the nitto trail grapplers and the mud grapplers, I am looking for some new tires and I was wondering if the mud grapplers are worth spending the extra cash on or should I just go with the trail grapplers. I wheel in central Maine and in the George Washington National Forest in Va. I try to go wheeling a couple times a week.

Well, trail grapplers are good in just about it all, and mud grapplers are great for extra deep mud. They are super loud though on the street. Idk about mud grapplers wear on the street though

Mud grapplers wear very fast on pavement. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them, but the trail graps wear much better on pavement

I currently run the Mud Grapplers and could not be any happier with their performance on and off road. I do tend to hit more serious trails than the average jeep would normally see, so the extreme performance capabilities are needed and used. They are however pretty darn loud around town and especially at hwy speeds, I don't mind it, I look at it as the cost of doing business needing that aggressive of tire for where and how I wheel. I have not owned the Trail Grapplers, but I have wheeled with tons of guys that have them. I can honestly say that the Trail Grapplers seem to be the best all around daily driver/serious trail tire. During the last JK Experience the Trail Grapplers held there own right next to the Mud Grapplers. I think what the Trails Grapplers would give up in the Offroad performance you would gain in daily drive ability and quietness.

Also, in two extreme, Nitto Tire sponsored events; The Ultimate Adventure and the JK Experience, not one tire failure was had by anyone running any of the two styles of the Nitto's. That's close to 40-50 rigs doing thousands of miles on road and offroad with zero failures of any type. Pretty impressive tires.

I agree that both are great tires. I have mud graps but I would get a set of trail graps as quick as I got mine. You can't lose either way.

Both are excellent tires. The Mud Grapplers are just really loud and wear quickly. The Trail Grapplers are one of the quietest mud tires available and work great on pavement.

Those that say they wear fast are you talking from experience. I don't have any MG but a lot of friends have them and they seem to last a long time. Most run them for over 50k miles. A lot of guys will run them for 30k mile and sell them for about half the cost and buy a new set. Then you'll see the guy with the used set of tires in town with them long after he bought them. I plan on getting a set wither they wear good or not but I've heard this before and it always confused me.

True! They also perform very well off road and are just about indestructible
