Default tires and gears questions help

I have a 2012 Sahara and
Eventually I will put a D44 in front, then regear to 5.13 or 5.38 with ARB lockers and a teraflex big break kit and master cylinder upgrade.

Until i can afford all of that, I want 35s. Can I run 35s on my 3.21 gears without causing problems to the trans, transfercase, driveshafts, etc. And without being sluggish?

Or is this a bad idea?!

Yes, you can run 35's. You have 3.6L engine. You don't even need to regear it that low, or regear it at all.

You are the first person who has told me that! Everyone I have talked to said 4.88 geting. MINIMUM.

I Juat don't know what to believe and i would kill.myself (not literally) if I spent 1200-1500 ish on tires only to be sluggish or wreck my tranny, transfercase or other things

So first and second gears will be getting more use but once I'm moving, it'll be smooth sailing?

They must have been talking about the 3.8L engine. The 3.6L engine has more power, and the 2012+ auto tranny is lower geared, hence, it is much more forgiving than the previous engine/tranny, and for sure it won't need at minimum 4.88 gears. Best thing you can do is get your tires, install them, and drive it for some time. Then make your own conclusion. You will not damage anything by doing that. The 2012+ JK's I believe are about 3 seconds faster in 1/4 mile. So even if you don't regear, it will still be about 3 seconds faster than pre-2012 JK's with 5.13 gears and 35's.

I'm in the same boat. I want to get my 35's so bad!!! But I was worried about regearing. I have the 3.21 gears and the 3.6 Pentastar, but a 6 spd manual. I knew the tires would decrease my MPG, and for that i will regear in the future when I have the funds and plan to hit the trails more often.

i have 3.8L , auto, 35s with 3.73s. its not bad around town and the highway is ok , not brutal by any means. but i do find myself using 3rd often on hills or windy conditions. the weather is starting to change here in canada and winds have shifted, so i find myself in a head wind to work. I'm often in 3rd gear in the morning so yes, i waiting to install my 4.88s. you should be ok with your 3.6L, 6 speed with 35s for awhile. your 6 speed with 3.21s on 35s would be far better to drive than my 3.73s 4 speed auto on 35s. pentastar power and 6 speed tranny !
