Default Effort and costs to replace 3.8 with 3.6

I found someone selling an new pentastar that burned up due to lack of oil. Immediately my gears started turning about the cost to rebuild and transplant my 3.8. Anyone have any idea if it would be worth it to get a long block for a few hundred and have it torn down and rebuilt then installed in my JKU. Unfortunately almost all the work will have to be in the shop since I live in an apartment with no ample space or tools to do much if any of it myself. I am interested in opinions

I figured I could probably trade mine in, get a 2012 and only pay about 10k out of pocket.

Sounds like you'd probably be better off trading in your current truck and trading up

I wouldnt do it unless there was a pretty complete (Engine/Tranny/Exhaust/Harnesses) donor vehicle that I could take everything from.
