Default Best Budget Boost/Shocks

Well after some thought and it looks like a promotion for my wife, I am rethinking my lift choices. My wife will have to park in a parking garage with limited height, that combined with the fact my jeep will see 99% of its time on the road, might see one traila year or some time in the deer woods. I have decided to be practical and go with a moderate BB lift.

I would like to run 33-34 inch tires on stock sahara aluminum 17" wheels. My factory shocks stink so I would like to go with something that would provide a better ride quality. I would also like to be able to level out the front end.

What would some of you suggest as lift meeting these standards

I had the rough country bb with 2.2 shocks and was very pleased. Especially for the price.

Bilstein 5100's will give you a great noticeable improved ride both on road and off. Higher performance yet still affordable.

Ran the Teraflex 2.5 BB that came with the TF 9550 shocks before my RK lift. It was a nice lift kit and rode exactly like stock. The factory front springs will sag if you add a heavy bumper and winch though. My JK set level with the BB and factory bumpers. Here's some old pics w 33x12.5 A/T's before and after the BB.

No lift. (Notice the huge rake)

After TF 2.5 TF BB.

Thanks for the post and the pics! Im in the same boat still doing my homework.
Pretty much have to decide on the TF level kit to the BB. I have picked out the same tire size as you.

I too do alot of highy way travel (650KM per week evey week), so mild lift is for me.

How long did you run without lift? Any issues? Does the BB cause any extream angles on your drive shafts?

Thanks, Great looking Jeep, and log home!!

I hate the rack from a factory jeep, I dont know why jeep does that. I have a body armour front bumper (wife got in an accident two weeks after we bought it ) and would like to add a winch for hunting, so I dont know if that will effect it. The body armour bumper seemed pretty light compared tot he factory bumper when I replaced it.

I love the yellow jeep. I think it is my favorite color. Thank You for the info. I am glad you said teraflex too, they have great customer service so would love to give them the business.

I ran the 33x12.5's for over a year w no lift and had zero problems. They would rub the stock fenders when flexed but not bad. The key is wheel off-set (back space). 4.5in BS on my 17x9 wheels. The cabin is the reason I bought the JK. This was my last home in Missouri. It was in the tip of the Ozarks straight up a 2 mile incline of private road. I sold it due to my job relocating me to the flat state of Indiana. No extreme DS angles w the TF 2.5 BB. My JKU is an 08 w auto tranny. You hear of certain spring lifts giving you more lift than advertised. That's not an issue w BB spacers. The thickness of the spacer is exactly the amount of lift your JK will get.
