Not new to jeeps but new to offroading. I signed up for an offroading 101 class at Rausch creek this coming Saturday. My husband thinks It's a waste, but I'm a newb when it comes to this and I don't have any jeepin' buddies to take me out. Anybody ever do anything like this that will admit it?

I think it's a great idea. Anything that will make you more at ease and enjoy off roading more is a good thing.

Maybe he's just nervous you'll pick better lines than him on the trails? LOL.

But I have thought about doing that 101 course, just because I rather learn things the easy way, than the hard way and hurting my rig.

I took a course outside of Phoenix and I think it helped immensely. Great confidence builder and if you have the fundamentals you can start learning proper technique. I've taught a few guys since that have had their rigs longer than me. It was also nice to learn proper recovery and have someone to ask questions that was a professional.

Great idea and nothing stupid about it. Saftey should be priority one and knowing what to and not to do is just being smart. Have fun out there!

That is a great idea. I grew up in 4x4s... so over the years I picked up on a lot from peoples mistakes.

Thanks for all the feedback, it is very appreciated!!! Yeah, I didn't think it was a bad idea. I'm really looking forward to "getting my feet wet". Hopefully after this class I will be going to RC at least once a month. It will be nice to be able to talk to fellow jeepers, hopefully there will be a few there this weekend. Thanks again guys!!

Always a good idea. Even experienced folks may pick up a new tidbit.
