Default Cut fenders

I cut the stock fenders because I want more clearance but didnt go to tube fenders because I love the stock fenders. you can pin up against a wall and they just cave in and act as a cushion to avoid body damage. Now that they are cut they have less structural integrity, will these provide less protection to the body? If I get body damage I wont be upset as I have some already but I dont wanna go out and intentionally look for more or get more if I can avoid it. So should I be concerned as these provide less protection?

I wont go to tube fenders just yet, If and when I do I would have them reinforced to the frame so they dont cause body damage from hits. I saw that JC fab did that to Modestoperandi's JK and it seems to avoid that common problem with tube fenders.
TIA

I know he is running evo's front fenders up front and the rear i think they just have skins that are welded on so in case of a hit the force gets spread out and not just hit one spot

Im not to sure

I spoke to him and remember him saying the fenders were tied into the frame. I'd like to do that but for now my concern is if the cut fenders will provide less cushion to the body

Oh i see thats pretty strong i know Dave said he has had his jeep almost on its side and they held up good... hmm i THINK you lose a bit of strength up front because you do cut the frame that holds them but the rear is hallow
