Default Help on the wheel tire set up of this JK?

Hey guys .... Im a bit of noob over here, but have been reading on here on and off for years.

Anyway I love these MOPAR wheels on this Overland Jeep:

From my research the press releases I could find say its got 2.5" lift on it with MOPAR steel wheels and 35" Tires. Seems straight forward. The lift is by AEV, wheels only come in one size 17x7.5, but the tires are where I ran into a bit of an issue.

According to most tire manufactures, tires that are 35" in size have a recommended wheel width of 8"-11" , hence making the 7.5" MOPAR wheel too narrow. Does anyone infact know that the tire size is a 35"? also anyone have any clue of the brand and actual size?

Reason Im doubting it is because a lot of the blog articles I first found said the rig had a 3" lift, but AEV only makes 2.5" and 3.5" according to their site. It wasnt till later that I found a article stating it was the 2.5" lift.

Thanks for you help in advance

12.5 width tires will fit ok on 7.5 rims. The 8-11 is just a recommendation to get the best tread pattern. Technically 7.5 will make the tire wear abit more in the middle but proper tire inflation will correct that.

It might have been a custom 3 inch job.. But either their 2.5 or 3.5 would work well with 35s

Thanks for the quick response.

Do you think it would be dumb if I was set on the those wheels (looks wise) to buy them and send them out to a shop to have them widened? and if not what would be the idea width? 9.5"?

I wouldn't worry about it. I run 35x12.50's on 7.5" rims and they are wearing fine. As mentioned, correct air pressure is very important and I would do a chalk test to fund the best number

Agree most rims are 8 inch the .5 inch is really nothing.. Many people run 7 inch rims on the same tires.

Looks like 35's. They're BFG KM2's for sure. KM2 35's run smaller than other 35in tires (don't know why) but they will definatly be fine on the 7.5in wide wheel.

Edit: Just remembered that someone on here was going to run 35's on this same Mopar wheel but needed wheel spacers to do so due to the backspace. He ended up getting a similar wheel and his rig is Sahara Tan.

They look like 35 to me. With 2.5 in lift, 33 would look smaller in the fenderwells and 32 would just look dumb

There's a good write up about it on the Expedition Portal Forum. It's much more detailed.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Overland parts list - Expedition Portal

"AEV Nth Degree 3.5" Premium Suspension System"

"BFG 35" KM2"

.

Don't those wheels have OEM-spec backspace of 6.25"? You'll need spacers if that's the case.
