Default a VT muffler question

Can I purchase a VT muffler, just the muffler, and simply put it where the stock one is? I realize that the intake side would need a 90 elbow and a new tip on the exit side, but wouldn't these be able to be store bought items as well? I just can't see spending 350$ more for the tubing from the cat back when the factory tubing is in fine shape.

Yes you can, make sure you get an OVER 4.0 application.

Never mind I found the answer. thanks again.

We are in the process of getting one set up on WOLette's JK, Nemo.
So they will do a review soon.
We are also coming out with a cat-back exhaust system with the JK in mind near the beginning of summer.

If you wanted to get one for your JK now a local shop could incorporate it into your system no problem.

Go with muffler for the over 4.0 application. The reason being is that with how weak the 3.8 is, larger tires, bumpers etc you are always in the gas and we find that this muffler for the over 4.0 is a perfect fit in the JK.

On a few other forums people who have American muscle cars are really happy with it at highway speeds as well, and love the sound when they get on the gas.

Thanks

Same OVER 4.0 application for both engines, I have sat in the back ("trunk area") with this on our 2012, and it was quiet on Moab highways....

Any dynos done on the VT yet that measure low RPM torque? I'm hoping the valve system creates some extra back pressure at low RPMs and perform better than the typical straight-through exhaust. I know they help at cruising/higher RPMs, but that low-end torque is what I'm missing and need while on the trails. I've got my fingers crossed that this muffler might be the answer to both needs.
