Default Anybody cut the stock rear bumper down???

I just moved up to 37's and at full stuff my tires are rubbing the bumper inside the wheel wells. I'm curious if anyone has cut down the rear bumper??

I'm not sure if it's completely hollow or filled with foam. Also, does anyone make an end cap similar to the one for the front stock bumper?

Any input is appreciated.

I remember seeing someone do this, but it was a long time ago. The rear bumpers are hallow and I have not seen caps for the rear bumper like you can get for the front.
IIRC, they used remaining plastic from the bumper and a plastic welder to make their own caps.

I did because I bent the bumper, imo, it looks crappy.

thanks for the input and the pics guys.

I was thinking about just cutting a couple inches off so that it still covers the corner of the body for protection. Basically cut it off right past where the flare hits it

Can you just trim the inside so the tire does not rub. The stock bumper does do a good job protecting the rear quarter panels!

well it rubs the entire flat portion that faces the tire. I agree about the protection and I really only want to trim it minimally as I like the stock bumper and the way it protects the quarter panels. Mainly, I wasn't sure if it was hollow like the front bumper and if anyone made caps for it so it don't fill it with crap leaving it open

I have the same issue with my 35" MTR.
I could get a few more inches if I trimmed the bumper and fender mhm

Damn! That's with 35's ? Are you lifted at all? I have a friend running 35's no lift and has much more room than that
