have a 2012 with exhaust and intake.

every so often upon exceleration, there i a loud pop. sounds like a backfire occuring at the end of the header. or mayeb a crack in the exhaust line.

I have an 08 with a magnapack in place of the stock muffler. It pops when slowing down and when I am getting on it and shift gears.

thats understandable, i have a muffler with dual exhaust with stock cat back.

what worries me was 8,000 miles with the muffler and never heard these noises until 100 miles ago. it was kind of all of a sudden

Any chance that its high rpm and maybe the trans is slipping, causing the rev limiter to pop

Does it happen just before the shift when you have your foot on the floor? If so I have a 2013 with the MagnaFlow offroad exhaust that does roughly the same noise I think your describing. If i'm on the floor just as it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it will do sort of this stutter pop noise. Its normal though.

Do you think it may be the computer retarding itself at that time? Ultimately causing an unusual pop due to an irregual explosion in the cylinders?
