Default **** How to Change Out The Shocks ??? - 2007 4DR JK ****

This looks pretty easy. Do I need a jack for this? I was just going to do it on the street in front of my apt. The front looks harder than the back though. I just replacing the worn out sport shocks with some Rubicon shocks. Are there any insctrutional videos? I can't seem to find jack on youtube. Pun intended.

Damn that didn't last long.On the back shocks there is a bar right on top of the nut. I don't know how to get to it with the tools I have. I have a socket set with an extension but thats about it.

I replaced mine last week... Wasn't that difficult and I did not use a jack, but I have a 3" lift and 35's, so worming around under there wasn't too bad.

Cool, so I got the back done almost. It started raining hard and the back shock is a bit cockeyed in the bottom loop so I can't get the pin in. I might have to jack up the chassie so that can settle down correctly, or I might just drive around on it hoping that it settles down straight.

Raining in LA huh? Whodathunkit. Yeah I had to beat on mine pretty good to get the rears to seat into the frame bracket.

I would use the jack; lift slowly and you'll find the sweet spot where it will go right in easy.

I just tightened the top nuts first, and then muscled the shocks into the bracket. The hole wasn't lining up on any of them, so I used a screwdriver to shimmy the shock into place so that the bolt could just slide through. I didn't have to use a jack, but damn I'll be sore for the next few days. Yewwww! Now its time for a shower and then the test drive comes. I can already see that I have a few inches of lift.
