Hilift winching

Default Hilift winching

I was wondering what is better for winching with hi-lift chains of straps? I trying to decide what to get? If chains what size and length is ideal? Thanks everyone and stay muddy.

I think a 30 foot toe strap would be better than chains. chains are heavy.

With the amount of work you have to do with the hi-lift jack, I would think the strap would have too much stretch. You would be there forever trying to get any distance.

If you want winch with a Hi-Lift, use their Off Road Kit. It allows winching without disconnecting and reattaching the chain when you reach the end of travel. Chain is needed for no stretch. Watch the Hi-Lift videos on YouTube or at hi-lift.com. Correct chain size and length is listed in the Off Road Kit instructions.

I carry 40' of chain for my pickup.Same chain used for tie down on loads.Truckers chain works well, 5/16,3/8 kinda big
