Default New '13 rubicon Lift advice needed

Well I just got me rubicon a couple days ago. It's nice and I love trail riding in it. I'm a converted big iron guy so the maneuverability is awesome. So my question is long arm or short and what size? I plan on stuffing 35'-37' under it so I've done enough research to know I'm in the 4 1/2''- 6" ballpark. What do you guys think about your lifts? Pictures would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Personally I think you don't need to go that high. The step from 35's to 37's is a very very expensive one.

What's the budget?

Auto or manual?

This is a very common question, and rather than spend 20 minutes typing it out, watch this video and it will help you make up your own mind.

It's a manuel trans. I know it's expensive. Like I said I was big iron guy before and had a big lifted rig so the expenses that go along with that are known and expected.

I think that's too high for 35's. if you want a big jeep then go for it but I think it's too high I'm running 35's with only a 1.75" lift and cut flares the lower you can stay the better IMO. Besides that I like the way the stock coils flex, they sag with heavy bumpers but I like them. Just my .02 and good luck with your choice.

Thanks for the suggestions. Honestly I know the jeep of fairly capable of a lot of things stock. I've been reading a lot of people starting to go with LCG ( low center of gravity ) lifts. Good idea essentially. My jeep is gonna be a daily driver but it's on road manners are not very big concern of mine. I obviously want it to be safe for myself and others but if I have to take a corner at 2 mph I'm not goin to be butt hurt about it haha.

I have the TF 2.5" coil lift with 1" spacers in the rear. Sounds like we have the same Jeep (Just different colors). I am on 35's now and plan on adding a 1" body lift when I get everything beefed up for 37's.

Also in the "search" and "advanced search" boxes you can find 1000's of pictures of what you are looking for. Jeeps with a 2.5" lift & 35's and 4" lifts & 37's.........it's endless.

Congrats on the jeep! You are going to love it In my humble opinion,,, if you want to go 35-37" tires,,, you absolutely need to go long arm! Jeep stock arms are very short,, like 22", give or take, when you go tall enough to efficiently support 37's, you put the stock length control arms at a very steep angle. The flatter you can get your control arms at ride height,, the better you will be during the flex.
When I wheeled with my jeep in stock configuration, it did way better than I expected; however, it definitely ran out of flex, which caused the wheels to come off the ground, hence limited traction.
The longer arms, springs, and shocks will all contribute to better flex! Trust me,,, if you are thinking 37's,,, you will want the complete suspension to work together as a singly designed unit. It doesn't sound like it's your intention to go cheep,, so don't!
good luck!

Wow yours looks awesome. That's a nice comparison of what I want. How trail capable is it now? Not too tall to ride smaller trails? How about your center of gravity? This is mine right now just bare bones stock

I saved up for ever for mine! it has pro rock 60's,, I moved the wheel base from 95" to 100.25",, with King coil over shocks and a one off suspension. Im not saying anyone needs to do what I did, but, if it is your intention to go 37'S,, do it right! re gear and go long adjustable control arms with quality shocks. A friend of mine has the 4" old man emu springs with Fox 2.0 reservoir adjustable shocks, and adjustable control arms. He runs 37's, and it is a seriously nice ride! He also has all the additional stuff you might need, like high fenders, extended brake lines. It takes a lot to do it right.
