So I need some opinions.

I've removed my plastic rear bumper and I really like the look. I'm considering adding Evo D ring mounts that slide into the exposed frame ends. Question is, how vulnerable will my metal rear corner panels be while off-roading? I have 33" tires and a TF leveling kit. I do mild to moderate rock crawling. Any pics of carnage and accompanying stories would be great.

I am considering getting an aftermarket bumper to protect the corner pockets but I want your opinion regarding the above.

Well if you like to play with BIG rocks may want consider it,besides they look pretty cool

 

I really like the look without a rear bumper and those d ring mounts are really cool.

I can't talk to the rear quarter panel survival without a bumper. My experience has been that the stock bumper does a great job protecting them. I have 35" tires and my spare fits nicely in the back - my rear seat is long gone! I see no reason to ever add any more weight to the rear end!

You don't need them, it's really personal preference. Unless your wheeling t hard on some big rocks I'd say your safe, there are tons of guys on here running no rear bumper

 

i've been running sans bumper for quite some time with no issues yet....EVO D-rings are coming. Going with this set up to Moab EJS so i'll let ya know how it goes...running 35" Toyos on TF 2.5" btw.
