Default 2012 JKU Auto with 4.88 Gears on 37s

Anyone done it? To low? Just right? How is it on the highway?

Looking to do it but not sure. Currently have heavy bumpers and winch as well.

What about on 35s, way to steep?

Thanks

I'm running 4.88s on my '12 JKUR auto with 35's and LOVE it! Almost feels like you're driving a stocker again. On the freeway at 70mph I'm turning about 2850rpm, but the nice thing is that it's not always going in and out of overdrive.

I can actually accelerate on the freeway and it will stay in 5th gear unless I really stomp on it.

How much of a hit did your mileage take?

I've been averaging 13.3 for the past 6 months. Didn't really change at all after I re-geared.

Damnit I get 14 mpg hwy and I have 3.73s with 37s on my 2012 auto. I was thinking of going to 4.88 cause my rpms are at 2100 at 70 mph

I'm almost ready to put my 35's on, and was a bit worried how sluggish my 3.73s would be with an auto. I've got an '09 w/ 3.8L engine though.

The 2012's are a totally different beast, no comparison.

Anyone else re-geared there 2012+ JK and willing to give some feedback?

Thanks!

I have 4:88 Gears with 37's on my 2013 with the Procal it shifts good, it will hold a gear on grades a little longer and mileage, well it'll drop by 2-3 with a light foot and with a heavy foot don't even bother looking!!! Love the performance around town and rpm's are right there with my stock set up and 4:10 gearing.

Had 4.88's installed on my 2012 JKUR auto last month. According to the computer I'm down about 0.5 mpg. I've been running 37's for about a year on the 4.10's and I'll admit that I wasn't that unhappy with the power from the 3.6 but the tranny was hunting quite a bit driving the mountain highways and it rarely saw overdrive. I have noticed the milage drops when I'm going over 70. I'm sure the drivetrain likes the change, but I wouldn't say the upgrade is going to shock your socks off.

The gear hunting is the one I really want to stop. Currently running 35s with 3.73 and it hunts a bit to much for my liking....

Keep the feedback coming!

Thanks guys.
