Default Rock sliders enter & egress question

I recently purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK X 2 Door Ragtop. I am considering purchasing ACE rock sliders for use during mild to moderate wheeling on back road mining trails in the Rockies. I do not, nor do I want, to use the sliders for a step to enter and exit the JK. If I enter and exit without stepping on the ACE Slider, will the slider be a hindrance?

Thanks

I just got my ACE sliders with the intension of using them as a step. It is just too ackward to use as a step so I don't. The only problem is once they are muddy it is hard to get over them without getting your pant legs muddy. All depends on how tall you are and how high the Jeep is. I'm 5' 10" with a 3 3/4" lift and 34" tires.

Perhaps my family can use them as steps.

My wife and kids use them as a step. I never have and it's no big deal for me to get in without using it on my Jeep that sits 2.5" higher than stock. If you aren't careful, yeah, you could dirty your pant leg, but I wear slacks to work every day and haven't had an incident yet. I'm 6' if it matters.

I've got the ACE Rock Sliders on a 2012 JKUR lifted 3.5" w/ 35" tires. It's my daily driver and I wear suits or slacks almost everyday to work. I"m also 5'10". I almost never use them as steps getting in or out but my wife and family do. They come in handy for those purposes. I also do a fair amount of moderate off road and rock crawling and they have done a nice job in that area as well. All my body damage has been to the stock license plate and the driver's side rear fender. In both instances the sliders kept the offensive object away as designed until the tree and rock hit the fender or license plate holder. Oh well, I didn't buy it just to cruise the mall!

The fender took what the Rock Sliders left behind!

I'm 5'7 and I use mine as a step every time I get into the jeep. I may put my foot on them on the way out too, not really sure. It's great when the doors are off and you can get a hand on the grab handle, a foot o n the rail and fling yourself in sideways!

6'2" use mine as a step all the time. its really nice. after wheeling a few years, they got banged up enuff to need some paint. hit em up with some bedliner, now we have better footing as the bedliner gives em a nice ruff texture. yeah i wear slacks to work too, sometimes i get dirt on my pants but then i just reach down and brush it off. dirt and jeeps go hand in hand, i suggest getting used to that...

I use mine as a step also. I'm only on a TF 2.5 and rubi tires so I can still step in over them but they are there so I say why not use them as a step? As for dirt my pants got dirty on my rubi rails so I've grown to deal with it. Someone asks I just say its a Jeep thing. I find this gets me out of a lot of situations including my doors in the store room. Buy them you'll like them.

I've got them on my jku. I don't use them to step in. But I use them getting out. It's awkward to step away from it getting out, and I don't get mud on my pants.
