2010 JK Sound System Write-ups?
I'm going to be upgrading my sound system the day after Christmas and was wondering if there are any good write ups to help me in the process? I'd be replacing tweeters, dash speakers, rollbar speakers & head unit in my 2010 two door. Single din hu and a component Polk setup for dash and tweeters. Polk coaxial for the rollbar. If anyone can post some write ups I'd appreciate it, especially for the driver side dash. I searched but didn't find many good write ups for my 2010.
Thanks!
Thanks!
did mine myself a couple months ago on a 2010 JKU. I'd be lying if i said it wasn't trying
(at first) on replacing the dash speakers. didn't do the tweeters on mine, so can't comment there. Head unit is simple....get the fitment kit from Crutchfield or whereever you purchase the head, and get the PAC harness. Roll bar speakers are simple, remove the grill, and use the grills to ensure fit on the retrofit rings for mounting......FYI....dremel tool with a drill bit and cut off disk is very handy. Now to the dash speakers. Search removal on youtube to get an idea of what you are up against. pretty much disassemble the entire lower dash to get the boxes out, but once one is out, the second one seems to flow easier. I did get frustrated here, but in the end, wasn't all that bad, and saved me some serious coin on installation. Piece of advice, if you haven't bout components yet, the extras included when purchasing vehicle specific from crutchfield are invaluable (speaker wiring harnesses, mounting rings for speakers, diagrams). Good Luck.
