Default PROBLEM - Teraflex 2.5 coil & Rubicon OEM Rockers Too close ????

So I just spent all day installing the Teraflex 2.5 Coil w/ shock adapters (2012 Unlimited)

I have done everything up to the point where you put the wheels back on and drop it to the floor.

I have NOT tightened the arms/trackbar...any of the stuff you tighten once it's on the ground (because I'm waiting...)

As you can see from the pictures, the Toyo 35" tires are REALLY close to the stock Rubicon Rockers along the body. There is maybe 1" or less of room and the jeep is just sitting on the ground. I have to assume that this is not drivable and something is wrong? Any ideas? I'm literally unsure of what to do next and obviously teraflex is closed for the holidays.

On another note, I did not install any 1/2" rear spacer that used to be talked about. I only put in the new coil and the factory isolator as I was told the new coils don't need any spacer. Only problem with that thinking is I put the jack underneath and lifted the body 1/2" and the spacing didn't change noticeably...so that's not going to fix it...please help!

This is normal and there isn't anything wrong with the lift. You need to trim the rock rail and pinch seam if I remember correctly....

So cut the rail is the answer?

What about adding the extra 1/2 plastic spacer in the rear? Will that help? I just hate for the love of my sanity to have to do the entire rear end all over again just to get that in.....any shotcut to drop it enough to get the spacer in? I assume not...lol

Question, did your lift kit come with the 1/2" spacer? If so I would install them. If it didn't then double check that your springs are seated properly, your control arms are not binding, etc. The only thing I can think of is maybe you got springs for a 2dr vs a 4dr. See if there is a part number you can verify to see if you got the correct part. If it is then some possible fixes would be adding either a:

1/2" - 3/4" spacer
Cutting the rails / pinch seam
Getting control arms to move the axle back

Others will be chiming in soon....

I did not get the spacer, but after calling them they said don't need it.

The darn coils don't have part numbers, but the box says 4 dr

If all it needs is to cut the rail and seam, that's fine - I just freaked out because i really didn't hear anyone else mention it and it's not in the manual.

Adjustable lower control arms will increase the gap as it will correct the geometry. I would temporarily remove the rails... And trim the pinch seem. Later when you get LCAs you can put them back on unaltered. The spacer will likely have no effect other than to raise the back more...

Okay, this all makes sense. Honestly I didn't know what a pinch seam was...this makes sense to cut the rail and that extra metal back there. Thanks. Tomorrows project!

You should be able to re use the cap on the end of the rail, and be sure to treat any fresh metal after cutting.
