Default 34" tires with 5.13 gears. I got em!

Ok, that was a bit of a teaser because they aren't installed yet. I just got them today and i'm getting them installed on tuesday.

However, I think I will be the only one on this site with 5.13s and 34" tires so I will let everyone know how they perform.

On a side note, they arrived from Northridge4x4 in less than two full days. That's amazing considering it was with UPS standard and cross border.

Broker fees were $61.55 then I had to pay gst on the parts and the broker fees!

Well I guess 61.55 is better than paying pst had i bought them in British Columbia and there was no duty.

i'll be the fastest 0-10 on the planet. lol

Yup. Customs & Excise collects both GST & PST on products I carry across the border. They do not charge any fees for self-brokering, though. I've always found them eassy to deal with, except for the time I had no invoice to prove the value of the goods

When I brought my rims across, the guy even suggested a US supplier for tires!

Well I got my jeep back finally. It took them two full days to get the patterns right. I do notice a little whining on deceleration. It's not that loud but its there and annoying. If I role the window down all I can hear is wind. I'm hoping they will quiet down after the break in period.

I did a quick test at 100km/h(62m/h) and the cruise held in 4th gear (2200rpm) going up a hill.

The real test I guess will be towing my boat but that is going to have to wait.

Gear whine seems to be a hit or miss with Superior gears. I have a set of 5.13 in mine and they are noisy as hell. They were installed by a very reputable shop by their top mechanic and he could not get them to quiet down, even with a good pattern. Superior knows about the problem but won't fully admit it but they did offer to send out a new set of gears to try but at my own expense to have them re-installed They are currently working on a new set of gears with extra lapping done to them during the manufacturing process to help with the noise. Because they were the only game in town with gears available that is why all the shops have used them. When better gears are available most shops will not use Superior.

I personally have learned my lesson and will wait for Alloy/Precision to come out with theirs and then put a set of those in. The noise of the Superior gears sucks and it did not get better with break-in.

Good luck and call Superior and complain.
