Default Added egg crate padding to Bestop uder seat lock box.

I added a Bestop under seat lock box a while back. Been pleased with it so far. It installed easily and the drawer slides nice and smooth (like a toolbox drawer). The lock seems to be sturdy and 16 gauge steel makes for a nice sturdy box. The liner really lacks for storing a handgun IMO. It's a thin, blue carpet like piece that covers just the bottom. The drawer sides are bare and the drawer slider studs are exposed. I lined the drawer with some thin egg crate material like you find in any firearm hard case and cut it wide enough to mold to the drawer sides. Now my new 1911 fits nice and snug. If I leave it in the drawer while driving, I want be worried about it getting scratched and the wood grips getting banged up. The blue carpet was fine for my old polymer Glock, but this one needs to stay sexy.

That's awesome! Great job! I have been wondering about these boxes cuz they are about half the price of a tuffy box. Probably going to order one of these soon and then carry one of my hand guns also. Beautiful 1911 BTW

I ordered mine from Amazon. I was thinking it would not be nearly as nice as the Tuffy. Figured I would give it a try due to the price and great Amazon return policy. Been real happy with it.

Thanks. Been wanting a Ruger SR1911 ever since they came out. It shoots like a full size 1911 should and is not too "flashy". My kind of gun.

Better pics. I'm really proud of this gun, guys. Was gonna get a S&W 1911 cause I couldn't find one of these. The Ruger comes with a low glare stainless finish, beaver tail, titanium firing pin, Novak 3 dots, 2 mags (1 standard flush mag and 1 extended), and a gun rug. A compairable Smith was about $300 more.

Great choice on the Ruger. That was one of my top choices, but ended up getting a different breed

I've heard the Rugers shoot smooth, what kind of ammo do you keep loaded?

The trigger is crisp and smooth. Pull is around 4lbs. I put 50 flawless fed rounds thru it here on my property at 1 gal jugs. I was holding decent groups on the jugs at 20 yrds. My carry ammo is Speer Gold Dot 230 grain jacketed hollow points. I'm gonna try to make it to the range tommorow.
