Questions on ride quality - AEV Dualsport 2.5"
I'm looking at the AEV Dualsport 2.5 lift that comes with Bilstein shocks for my 2-door JK Sport. Right now, my Jeep is stock--tires, wheels, everything.
One of the things I loved about the Rubicon (back when I was picking out a Jeep) was how it rode on pavement. It was much more solid-feeling than the Sport, and I assume it had to do with the shocks and slightly stiffer springs (completely ignoring the differences in tires, for now). Will this AEV kit get me closer to that? I really have no way to know until I buy it and install it.
I know this kit will help offroad too, but the majority of my driving is on-road. The Sport suspension doesn't feel composed, really...it rides mostly like a car, real soft.

I am running the AEV 2.5 and yes your Jeep will drive and handle much better. It won't lean as hard in the corners and won't nose dive when you brake. I went with the Bilstien shocks and the ride is great just a tad stiffer then stock. It does very well off road to. You won't go wrong with this kit especially if your more worried about the on road performace.
I'm running the AEV 3.5 Dualsport on my JKU Rubicon since the end of October and I'm very impressed with the handling and the ride. I'm still running my stock tires and will be until next month but Charlie4 is right, the AEV is a nice upgrade from stock. I couldn't be happier.
I would actually use the word "Firm" instead of more "stiff" than stock. Agree on all points made--Handles great and seems rock solid. I went with the geometry correction brackets for the LCAs which help reduce bump steer and improve handling.
I had the OME kit on my 2007 and I would say the AEV 2.5 DS I have on my 2012 is a pretty big improvement in ride quality over OME and stock. In my opinion due to combination of springs tuned optimally for "dual use" road/offroad and the LCA geometry correction kit.
