Default Lift and Tire Question?

I am new to this site so sorry if this is the wrong spot. I have 17 inch wheels and I was thinking about putting 265-70-17 Hankook DynaPro Atm tires on my jeep with a 2in lift. Are these tires to small and do you all think there will be 2 big of a gap between the tire and wheel well. I am trying to limit cost a little bit that is why I may go with the 265-70-17.

For $16 more a tire at discount tire I'd go with a 285/70r17 instead. It will look better. The size tire you want to go with is actually smaller in height than the factory 17" sport tire.

I looked at discount tire and they didn't have the 285/70r17 in the Hankook? I looked it up on Google and I can only get the 285's at like 200 where I can get the 265 at 149 a tire?

Still I'd go with a 285 because it is a larger tire than stock as opposed to a smaller tire than stock with a lift. I was looking at the LT265/70r17 and you were looking at the P265/70r17.

Thanks! ill check it out. My other option is not adding the 2in lift, and putting a leveling kit on it. I just dont have a TON of money to play with and I am trying to make it look as good as possible with a limited money supply.

265 is a little over an inch smaller than 285... if you're on a budget craigslist is your friend, so many people out there taking a loss because they didn't buy what they really wanted and a lot of them have very low miles on them. I'm currently running a 2.5" lift and my 285's look like golf balls IMO 265 will look like ping pong balls. As far as the gap... it's huge, throw ing 315's in April to fill all that space.

yeah keeping an eye on craigslist etc is a good route. I'm one of those that took a huge hit selling my 80% like new Nitto Terra Grapplers 295/70/17 for $565, basically gave them away. That's how anxious I was to get my 315 Hankook Dynapro Mt's.

I considered 295's but I'm just going to go with 315's, my biggest concern was re-gearing my 3.73 to 5.13 but I think I'm just going to see how it rides and then go from there. Seems like a lot of people who went 33's end up with 35's.

Yep I am one of those, I regreted the 33's and couldn't be happier with the 315's. My 07 2 dr's a stick, so the 3:73 gears with a superchip work fine for me.
