Default ATX Slabs and Rough Country Lift

I am currently running a 4" Rough Country lift and on their website it states that I need wheels with between 4.5-4.75" of backspacing. However, I really like the ATX Slab wheels and have heard nothing bad about them. Is there a solution on how I can do this. From what I have heard is that the ATX Slab's only come in a backspacing of 3.5". Is wheel spacers the only way to do this? Because to me, what is the point of buying aftermarket wheels if I still need to run wheel spacers? Any help and input would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

If they are 3.5" back spacing then they will sit out farther than the 4.5"ers hence no spacers needed.

The smaller the number the more clearance you will have as they wheels sit out further. I have the slabs and love them!

So even if the website says 4.5-4.75", I can definitely run the Slabs with 3.5" of backspacing? I guess I just don't understand the whole concept of backspacing and offset.

Exactly. Just reverse your thinking. 5" and larger will not work, but 4.75"/4.5" and smaller will workout. They only stick out further (1" more) from your axles (providing more clearance). Great for running 13.50" wide tires like Nitto's and Toyo's

Lay a wheel face down on the ground then lay a straight edge across the back edges of the wheel. Now measure from the straight edge down to the mounting surface of the wheel and that is your backspacing. Sorry for the crap description it's best I can do.

That's a better (dumbed down) description than I have found. That explained it just fine for me. Thank you.

Ok, thanks for the information. I like the wheels/tires to stick out further. To me that just means more stability.

I'm about to order the XD rockstars but they are 5.25 back spacing so these will rub? I have a 3 inch BDS lift and was going to run 295/65/18 Duratracs. I do not want to run spacers but it seems quite a few run the rock stars here.
