I'm finally getting a 2013 JKU Rubicon in the next week and would like to hear opinions on lift options.

I want to do a 3.5" system. I'm wanting to go to a 35" tire, maybe a 37" later when I do flat fenders.

I would like a complete system and not have to get parts from different sources as I go.

It MUST have GREAT road manners and still be able to do trails here in Arizona.

I am thinking :

Metalcloak JK Wrangler Game-Changing Mid Arm Suspension System - Most $$$$

Rock Krawler -JK 3.5 MAX TRAVEL SYSTEM - Mid $$

Rough Country - JK Wrangler 4" X-series Suspension - seems cheap what is missing "if anything".


If you guys have any other kits or thoughts to recommend please do so.

Also what is a good Jeep shop in Phoenix?

Rock krawler for sure out of those you mentioned. For what you're doing metalclock seems overkill, also take a look at the evo spring lift, I believe they are called "enforcer" kits and also look at teraflex. Stay away from rough country if you have the money

 

Full traction makes a great 3" kit that nets between 3.5-4" rides well on the road too.

 

I have a Terflex lift on a 2013JK. Out of the lifts you listed I would go with RK 3.5. I have quite a few buddys that are happy with theirs on the JKU. If you have any jeep friends or in a jeep club near you I would ask for help doing the install. It is fairly easy.

 

I have the 3.5 RC lift on my 2013. I love it. Had the same lift on a 2009 with no problems. I did add AEV caster geometry brackets.

 

Had the OME 3.5" lifts on my 09 and loved it...just picked up my 13 RUBI and new 35" MTR with American Outlaw Buckshot 17" wheels and I need a lift as well to fit the new tires...

I have the RK arms and drag link on an AEV lift. I wish I had started RK. Although there is welding involved with the track arm brackets, it makes it very stout. The Metal Cloak arms are very intriguing and appear to be holding up from what I've read, but their kits are expensive even with the OME shock option. The RK guys are very customer service oriented and always have been prompt on technical issues and act like we are all small town peeps who know each other.

 

All of my rigs have TnT Customs lifts. They are y-link style. [Edit: the long arms are y-link, short aren't]. Good road manners even with big tires, good on trail. Worth considering, comparing.

Whatever you pick, pick one where the mounts are tucked away.

 

Dont forget, with the Rock Krawler lift you will need to add in shocks and bumpstops.
