Default 09 rubicon gas issue

I have a 09 JK 4 door Rubicon. We can't put gas in it. We can fill it .3 at a time basically what the filler neck will hold then kicks the pump off. Had a couple people tell me the vent valve on the tank is bad. Replaced the tank with a new one and still the same problem also checked all the lines on the tank and they were clear. Also replaced the canister purge solenoid and new gas cap.

Call the dealer. I believe there is a tsb for that issue. They should fix for free.

I have a 2009 as well with the same problem. They (dealer) replaced the gas tank with a new one. Once the install was complete, they realized the new one had the same problem and replaced it with a second new tank. Finally the problem has been resolved!

That would be just my luck. Just put a new tank in and same problem when we drove to town to fill it. Gonna have to clean it up a little and take it in to the dealer have them take a look at it.

There is another thread for this same problem with like 15 pages... Some say there is a recall others have my luck. Which is none!

2 new tanks and mine still kicks off when it shouldnt, and overflows when it should stop...

Ya i think the recall was like up to 07 or something like that. Of course we have 50k on it now and its out of warranty. I wish it spitting gas back was the problem i could stand clear for that. We're lucky to put .3 gallons in before it kicks the pump off. So it takes quiet a bit of time to fill it just half a tank. Usually end up running out of patients.
