Default Burning Oil with K&N drop in filter; 2010

Without a doubt, every time I replace a cheap air filter with this K&N drop in one I burn oil.... will a Simple K&N air filter really cause me to consistently burn more oil?

I have had a kn filter in my Jeep since I've had 1000 miles on it I don't think that would cause it to burn oil.I have a 08 jku with 112,500 miles on it .

The filter won't have anything to do with it

REALLY???? Then why is there sooooo many threads about this very issue on this forum? Why is it that most JEEP owners have this complaint about their brand new $30K Jeeps using oil?

Hmmm I think there are more Jeeps with this issue than not but whatever....

An aftermarket air filter wont cause the engine to burn oil.

Here is just one of the threads on this issue... Maybe you should put your theory to the test and start a poll. I would bet that way more Jeeps have issues with losing oil than not... Jus sayin!

The new jeep saying, it's a JK thing, you wouldn't understand. My TJ didn't burn a drop. The reason we complain is because our jk shouldn't burn oil. I'm starting the oil consumption test soon. Hopefully I fail so they will fix mine.
