Default What do you think about 305/70 tires?

It's basically a tweener tire that measures out around 34 inches and may be a good option for me since 33's aren't quite big enough and 35's may bog me down a bit since I have 3.21 ratio. I have a '12 manual 2 door and was curious if anyone is running this tire size with the same setup as myself.

IMO, it should work for you since you have the 2012. I should have waited 1 year before I got my JK. You have more torque and hosepower than I do. All I see on here is the big difference you have compared to me. I am fighting a regearing issue and what size I should go. So to me, you should be fine. My 3.21's with 33's ain't worth crap...lol

Yeah, the extra power is very noticeable. My '07 was a dog. I mean with almost 300 hp I think the size will be fine too.

I have the BFG KM2s in 305/70R16. When I had the 3.21 gears it was a PITA going over steep hills. I kept having to downshift on every incline. Finally switched to 4.88s last summer and I can climb all but the steepest hills in 6th.

They are not bad at all but the lack of gearing will kill your power. I bought that size specifically since I did not want to regear but after living with it for a while, I needed to regear. Now I am wishing that I just went with a larger tire in the first place.

I think I can live with decreased power for a while. I bet it'll still have more power than my '07 auto had with 32" tires. I do a lot of business with dealerships so I think I can get gears done for a reasonable price.

You should be akay. It'll bog down like your in second. I've got 305'sx75x17 with 373 gears and it bogged a little until I had it recalibrated.

Yeah, I'm not too worried. A buddy of mine has a '10 jk manual with 35's/3.21 and he's ok with it. My '12 has 80 more hp, so it can't be that bad.

I have an 11 JKU with 4" lift and 35"s and I seem to be able to deal with the 3.21's. I still cruise in 6th gear at around 70mph and get 19mpg hwy. So you have the new motor so I would say running a 35" tire will be alright. That's just my opinion.
