Anyone know anything about these? Koenig ironworks hydrolic winch from Texas. Someone gave me one and in trying to learn about it.

I dont think a hydro winch is what you want, the reason why most people use electric is because you can still use it (limited to battery life) if your jeep is not running unlike a hydro winch. Also you will need to tap into your power steering pump.Hydro winches are best suited for tow trucks and other work trucks not self recovery.

I would rather have electric for what we use them for, but if its free it might be worth trying out

It sounds like it might be worth some money.

maybe sell it to a vintage jeep restorer and put that towards an electric one.

Hydraulic winch will have hydraulic lines...one in and one out.

A PTO winch will have a spot to connect a small drive shaft.
