How to recover Jeep using Front Bumper hooks
Hi - I'm new to off-roading and this is my first jeep '12 JK Unltd.
I'll be going on a trip to Death Valley and was preparing myself with some recovery techniques.
Ques:
How do you properly use the front bumper hooks to recover yourself if you are stuck(I have a stock tow package)?
As per the Jeep manual we should use both the hooks but most videos on youtube i saw were using just one shackle to pull the stuck vehicle.
It'd be helpful if someone could share a picture/video as to how to properly strap the two hooks in the front bumper of the Jeep if you are stuck.
Do we just make a loop with one end of the tow/recovery strap and engage it with two hooks? Please advise.
Thnks

Here's the text from Jeep Manual--
EMERGENCY TOWHOOKS
• If your vehicle is equipped with tow hooks, they are mounted in the front
and the rear.
NOTE: For off-road recovery, it is recommended to use both of the front
tow hooks to minimize the risk of damage to the vehicle.
That Smitty strap is probably more than enough.
Generally it doesn't take a ton a force to get a stuck jeep out, just a nudge. I wouldn't worry about using just one tow hook in most cases. I've never heard if one breaking.
