Default Somethin is rattling

09 jku with 3.5" lift and relatively new 4.88 yukons

There is a seriously annoying rattle that sounds like it's coming from right under my accelorater. In fact, i can make it happen if I hit the accelorater hard enough

I really don't think it's my tranny, didnt sound like it. It sounds more like a heat shield or something rattling away

Any thoughts? I know it's hard to guess without hearing it but I'm hoping someone might have an idea

Did u check ur heat shields? That's more than likely what it is.

yeah x2, mine ended up being the heat shield on top of the exhaust pipe that runs parallel to your cross member. The 8 tack welds on there are known to break easily, 2 of mine were broken on opposing sides, so I just pried the shield up and out for less contact. Can't just feel by hand, gotta get under and pry around on it and you'll see the small seams lift up.

Yup same welds popped on mine. Re-tack weld them back down and you'll be good to go.

My 08 did the same thing. A couple of hose clamps around the heat shield at the weld locations fixed the rattle.

X2. Easiest fix once you find the rattle

And I'm assuming we are taking about the heat shield up by the front part of my exhaust ?

Jeez I installed my mbrp offroad exhaust myself less than a year ago and I can't even picture this right now lol
