Default Regular service questuion

This is the thing, my warranty is over cause my jeep passed 60,000kms and now I pay for all the service I'm doing and if something needs to be replaced then it goes out of my pocket... Starting to wonder if I should be paying the STEALERSHIP for the shit job they call service or just do it else where... I love my jeep sometimes I think they don't do half the stuff they are suppose to, like I passed 87,000 on mine last week and it had the sound in the back wheel which indicated bake pad change so I took it down to the deal and asked when they changed my breaks last and the @$$hole told me that my jeep never had a brake change ... I told him I can't be such a good driver that my brakes were ok till 87,000kms!!!!

Just looking for so advise guys ... Do you still take it to the dealer after warranty is over???

Dealerships rape people for anything they do. The dealerships only see my jeep to fix something under warranty. Everything else I do myself or take it to a mechanic that is A LOT cheaper and does a better job than most dealerships.

My opinion is that, especially if you have a modified rig, find a trustworthy shop and spend your money there

The dealerships (at least where I am in Ontario Canada) over charge, don't troubleshoot the same way bs aren't as experienced with my rig as a guy whose been building, wheeling and repairing jeeps for half of his life.

Plus if something breaks and you need a replacement, wouldn't you rather someone who can suggest better aftermarket parts (when necessary) rather than the same old mopar stuff. Don't get me wrong, some of the stock crap is good enough for most of us but from my experience I don't ever go to the dealership

I'm still under warranty until may (3 years since purchase ) but I don't bother with the dealership. I take mine to someone I can trust and who knows my jeep inside out, not someone who is required to go through troubleshooting steps and read the book on "what might be wrong if the steering wheel has a shimmy"

Then again all dealerships are different and if you found one that is reliable and shows some expertise, why not stick with the person your rig has been used to?

I would find a local shop to do work from here out. Take it to more than one place and see what they charge per hour. Ask friends for recommendations. The dealership is a good place to get factory parts, but labor is usually way too high
