Default Help me Decide: 285/75R18 MTR with 18" Mopar Steelies or 285/75R17 with AEV Savegre

Ok....I finally have it down to 2 choices to go with my AEV 2.5 lift (neither is perfect for me, but it's all about compromise):

Specs: 2012 JKU Rubicon, 3.73, AEV Front and Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier, AEV Fuel Caddy.

18" Mopar Steelies with MTR w/kevlar 285/75R18 (35.1" x 11.3")
-Pros:
--I would like 35"s, but definately want a skinny tire (just a personal preference, but I do not want fat tires)
--will fill out the lift well
--Tire is only 65lbs
--Only about $100 a piece
-Cons
--Wheels are 37lbs, 6lbs more per wheen than the Savegres
--I like the look of the AEV wheels a little more
--Tires will be about $350 more

or

17" AEV Argent Savegres with KM2 285/75R17 (33.9" x "11.3)
-Pros
--Love the looks of the Savegres
--6 Lbs less each wheel than the steelies
--Tires are 3lbs less than the Kevlars (Total = 36lbs less rotating mass)
-Cons
--Tires may look to small (my main concern)
--AEV Savegres will be about $500 more

I have 285/75/17 now and they measure about 33.5 mounted in the Jeep. I have an aev 2.5 lift waiting to go on. They look really nice. You will want spacers to help push the tires out if you run stock wheels.

Sounds like a great combo. What tires are you running?

Nitto terra grapplers. I see a lot of beach crawling and sand pits. They have been awesome and run great on the street at high speeds.

I could use some more feedback. I bought the KM2s and have some Savegre's on backorder, but I'm having second thoughts. What do ya think. More opinions the better. Thanks!

I personally like a little bit of a skinnier tire so I went with Nitto TG 295/70r18 and kept the stock wheels since they are pretty light. Just added wheel spacers and they clear no problem at full turn. If you're dead set on getting aftermarket wheels then 17's would save you money in the long run as tires can be significantly cheaper on a 17 compared to an 18. I personally think the JKs look the best with a min. of a ~35" tire but it's all personal preference. Now that I have 35's I want 37's next

Default bigger was better for me

I was set on 285 75 17 on my Savegre and spent a long time thinking it over, but at the last minute went 315 70 17 and am very happy with the look / ride.
I have the AEV 2.0 spacer lift.
The tires are just outside the fender well, the backspace on the aev rims is perfect for this size tire.
