Garvin 34900 tj bumper on a JK
Looking for a little help out there.
I have an opportunity to buy a Garvin 34900 tj bumper with all the goodies on it pretty cheap.
THe problem is I drive a jk not a tj.
Anyone know if the tj bumper will fit a JK.
I am thinking just line it up and weld on some brackets ( maybe even factory jeep brackets? )
I am assuming the mounts maybe different, but will the lenght and the swing arm be out of the way enought to open ther rear door correctly?
In theory it should work pretty easy with some custom mounting brackets.
It appears like a strait forward sq tube with a specfic mounting bracket for the tj/yj application, so i am thinking why cant i just make it work for a jk?
To me it looks alot like the new jk Garvin Industries Wilderness Products ATS Series Swing-Away Bumper System
Any ideas or anyone see someone do this before?
Thanks

A grinder and welder should do the trick... plus a little touch up paint.
There will be a difference in width but it should look fine. The main "bumper" area is straight so that should make revising the mounts much easier if you decide to do it.
You know what they say.... "A little putty, a little paint makes it look like what it ain't"
