Aev 4.5 vs rc 6" long arm....
Well wheels/tires are being ordered (20x12 Fuel Hostage & 38x15.5x20 Toyo Open Country). I was all set to go with the AEV 4.5" kit again. I HATED my last AEV 4.5" set up but found out after I sold the Jeep it was installed incorrctly. The wrong holes were chosen for the lift on the correction brackets and it screwed up the lift. I could never figure out why I couldnt get the kit to ride like everyone raves about and now I know. I spend almost 100% of my time on road (Go to the snow if the winter) and am not looking to spend 4k+ on a lift that I dont need (Use the jeep to cart around my Bull Mastiff & St Bernard)
My questions is, does anybody have the Rough Country 6" Long Arm kit? Its only about $300 more than the AEV (Which is way overpriced for what you get, I know), but I need enough space to clear my 38's. My last AEV 4.5 cleared my 38x15.5 Nitto Muds without problem. I am looking for the best On Road ride and control from either of the two kits. I was looking at Rancho but their lifts arent big enough to clear my tires, and I wont chop my fenders so need the lift height. I am only looking at these two kits as All the other kits start getting a lot more expensive when you start adding shocks etc. I would love to hear from anybody running the RC Long Arms. I already know the opinions on the AEV.
Thanks

you used to own a vette and now you want to buy a 6" long arm from rc?
what happened man? you take a pay cut like the rest of us?
ouch.
don't cheap out. go with a rk long arm or 3 link radius arm.

Hell ya I did! Have a 12k a month over head, a wife that doesnt work, and am not making 350k a year anymore! The days of spending 40k on mods for my cars are over! Not going to spend 4k+ on suspension when the AEV will really do what I want for $2300 installed.
if your concerned with ride quality and it's going to be more on the street then off, i'd just go AEV and look for a reputable shop in the county to do the install.
while i dont recommend aev for off roading, your ride will be great on road.
if it was me, i'd buy the wife a loui rather than a chanel, save a little money here, and spend the extra dough on a RK long arm. however, i actually wheel. maybe once a year, but i want her to perform while wheeling... and still ride good on the street.
i thought i saw you were saying some place else that you were going coilovers down the line? if thats the case. don't go with either of the 2 companies listed in the op.

Between the two, I would get the AEV. Better quality, and you don't need 6" of lift to clear 38's. You may look at cutting the fenders, or flats if you need more clearance
