Installed my new Smittybilt SRC Side Guards on my 2012 JKUS today! My first of many mods to come. I installed them myself, and this is the first installation of anything on a vehicle I have done without sending it to a shop. I now believe when people say you learn a lot about your Jeep by working on it yourself. Pretty plain right now but it is a work in progress. The forum has given me so much information and so many ideas. Thank you.

Great job! Looks great. I'm also looking to do something similar here pretty soon. Haven't figured out out which ones to go with. How do you like them so far?

Jeeping4fun - They appear to be very well built, solid, and heavy. I have gotten a few looks and comments on them today.
SmashBoogie - Thank you and Nice armor!!! That could have been very bad.

Looks great! I still remember the first mod I ever did over 20 years ago. It just keeps getting better (maybe worse depending on how you look at it) from here on out.
You will cuss, bleed, even if you don't drink beer you will start, bleed some more, drink more beer, Quadratec and 4wd Hardware catalogs will turn into your new source of porn, max out your credit cards, possibly divorced, spend all night on jeep forums or drinking beer and working on the Jeep, I think you get the picture!
Congrats!

Drinking beer - check
Cuss - check
Quadraporn - check

I can definately see how this becomes addicting. Even though it's just side armor, I find myself looking out the window just to take a peek.

Wait till you find yourself looking out the window for the Big Brown Truck to arrive with the next delivery....

Just be careful on this forum. There are so many good looking jeeps, that I find myself being sucked in to adding to my jeep. I didn't want to do much to it. But after 3 months of owning her, thanks to project Jk....I bought bigger wheels, tires and a 2.5" lift. Now I'm not complaining by any means.....just be careful lol. You'll get jeep envy...and might spend more money than you were expecting to. But welcome to the jeep world!

I'm already waiting for the brown truck with my new front bumper. And yes, I do see all of these awesome Jeeps and it makes me wanna thin out my wallet a little bit more when I see something I like. Very addictive but I believe worth it if you like the lifestyle that comes with the Jeep name.
