Default Coast 1310 rear shaft question?

I just had a new rear shaft along with rear upper control arms put in my jeep. I had the shop adjust the pinion angle to 1 degree below driveshaft angle as directed by north ridge 4x4. Now I seem to have a slight vibrating type sound coming from somewhere. It's only when I hit the gas a certain way at a certain speed so it's not all the time and its not really that loud either. How concerned should I be about this? Am I going to cause damage to my new shaft? Thanks guys.

Lmao. How do you expect us to figure it for you. Do you have any pictures? Do you know the degrees of the angles? Do you know how the shop adjusted your preload on the.pinion nut?

If i had to guess, it sounds like they.hit your pinion nut with an air impact.

I don't know man, I'm no mechanic. I just thought maybe some one has had a similar experience. Unfortunately there is a lot more to this than I can understand. Not everyone is a experienced as you.

the least you can do is take pictures of all the angles and report back here so we can judge and rule out atleast the pinion angle. i would also ask the shop how they set the preload...

Unless you specifically tell the shop to torque the pinion to 160ftlbs, most places are just going to use an impact. And 99% of the time, assuming they are using a decent impact, it will be fine. You can easily check the torque yourself. It's just a few bolts off the axle end if the DS, grab a torque wrench and a 34 or 35mm socket (can't remember off hand) and torque to 160.

The proper way of swapping a DS when a new yoke is put in is supposedly replacing the crush sleeve as well from what I'm told. But I don't know anyone that has ever done that.

That's what I set mine to and i don't have any issues. 35mm and 36mm are axle shaft sockets. The pinion nut and transfercase are 1 1/4 & 1 5/16s sockets.
