Default Economic (cheap) Wheel and Tire Combo

Hello. I wonder if any of you could give me an idea for a cheap wheel tire combo. I have a bone Stock 07 X JK. I wish to give a better "look" to the stance of the Jeep. You know, wider tires and decent rims. I have no lift yet, so I want something that will still look good if I ad a 2" lift later. I do not rock climb or do anything extreme with my Jeep (until its paid off). I only go off road on dirt trails and a little mud, just to have a little fun in the outdoors. I mainly use my JK for a commuter so I need a decent A/T tire that is primarily for occasional off road and gets good wear on asphalt. Thank you for any advice.

Well, just a thought, what ever tire you end up going with you may want to get the "C" load rating. I believe most of the stock tires are this rating and when you go up to a "D" or "E" you really start to add weight. The side wall won't be as stiff, but the road ride will be smoother and the mileage will be better with lighter tires.

As for me, I run the Nitto Terragrapplers on Crager soft 8s. It was pretty inexpensive, but the Terras only come in D or E load ratings. Check out Discount Tire Direct for inexpensive A/T tires. When you find one that you think you like, seach the forum and you'll find plenty of opinions on it.

The BFG A/T KO has been an extremely popular choice and is pretty durable. If you stick to a 265/75/R16 or a 285/75R16 on a steel wheel, that is pretty cheap. You will rub slightly with the 285's

Thanks. Will the 265/75R16 have a beefer look?

The 265/75/R16 will be about the same height and width as a Sahara or Rubicon tire/ 32" by 10.5". The 285 will be about 33" by 11.5".

The 285/75/16 is 32.8" tall, almost a 33. I am pretty high on a 34" tire, but the MT Baja Claw is only $193/tire. 16x8 ProComp 1069's are only $125 each and look great.

I have 265/75/16 tires on cragers. Here are before and after pics, to give you an idea. If you use your stock wheels, using wheel spacers will give you a more aggressive stance, similar to what the Cragers did to mine. I've seen them in the for sale section for about $150 lately.

That is exactly what I'm looking for! Can you tell me the tire and rim types and pricing? Where could I get the exact same items? Do you have spacers? If not is there any rub? Is there a lift on your Jeep? Thank you, Thank you... I really want that exact same set up on my jeep.

Wheel / Tire / Lift info is in his signature

"265/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers - 16" Crager Soft 8s - 1" Terraflex coil spacers"

Call a local tire shop for wheels and tires, they can order the stuff you want and install it.

Or order online/mailorder but you'll have to pay for the shipping and installation charges later.....asuming you don't work at or own a tire shop that is.

First off I'm a noob to JK so "Hi All!"
I bought a set of LT265/70R17C M/T Durango's ( I think these are 31" tires), for a good price and mounted them on the stock aluminum wheels. For me they fit the wheel well good.
When I bought them I was told I could go upto 285/75's but seems that would be to much rubber without a couple of inchs of lift.
As for wheels, I like the looks of Jeep's aluminum wheel. But that's me. So get a wheel you like! Not what someone else likes because you have to live with it.
